Volcon ePowersports, the first all-electric, off-road powersports company, introduced a two-wheel, child-friendly model, named the ‘Runt’ in February 2021 with delivery scheduled to begin in June.
The Runt is a smaller version of the company’s first electrified off-road model, the Grunt. It allows families to join together in off-road powersports adventures, creating lasting memories and setting the groundwork for a lifetime of off-road fun, all the while instilling confidence in new riders and their parents.
The Runt is an all-electric, two-wheel mini bike that’s capable of exploring the outdoors. It has three riding modes and allows a customised experience based on the young riders’ abilities. The Runt is equipped with app-driven geo-fencing controls, remote monitoring, performance limiters and tip-over notifications, giving parents peace of mind when their children are riding. Seats and handlebars with different heights allow the bike to grow with the child.
The Runt offers a range of 35 mile (56 kilometres). It can be recharged in two hours using any household outlet. Pricing start at $2,995.
Andrew Leisner, CEO of Volcon Inc., said, “The no-clutch, single-speed, electric powertrain is easier for young riders to learn. The new app-based controls will give parents the ability to monitor their children and regulate the power of the motorcycle. The Runt, paired with our Grunt, will bring new families into the freedom and fun that off-road powersports provides.”
Volcon is the first all-electric, off-road-only powersports company. Volcon electric vehicles provide fun, family-friendly, off-road adventures as well as backcountry sportsman exploration, along with practical utility. In addition to the groundbreaking Grunt and Runt, Volcon will begin delivery of the four-wheeled ‘Stag’ and ‘Beast’ UTV models in 2022 into 2023, respectively.
